Shaun didn't begin his professional singing career in America, but overseas while he was still in high school.
He appeared on numerous television shows and radio programs throughout Europe promoting his first hit single Morning Girl in 1976. His debut album That's Rock 'n' Roll, was released in Europe in 1977. This same album was later renamed Shaun Cassidy when it was re-released in the U.S. later that year. Today, it still holds the record for being the #1 selling solo debut album in history.

He performed in spectacular concerts both in America and abroad to millions of screaming fans. Shaun made dozens of television appearances including The Mike Douglass Show, Dinah, American Bandstand, The Goldie Hawn Special and one of his own called The Shaun Cassidy Special. He maintained his singing career while acting in the popular weekly television series,
The Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew Mysteries.

WASP the last album Shaun released in 1980, was quite a departure from his previous albums. It had a hard rock edge to it and many of the songs had stirring messages. Shaun took a break from recording to pursue acting. Nearly a decade later he released the hit single Memory Girl in Europe.  It was well worth the wait but unavailable in the U.S. Although Shaun is not making records at this time, his voice can be heard on such compilations as The Gerschwinn Songbook, Over The Rainbow: The Music Of Harold Arlen, and The Christmas Collection II.
